What Mood is in a Font?

Using the list of words below, explore the differents uses of fonts. Assume each word would take the place of a headline in a newspaper, magazine, flyer, etc. Apply different fonts to the text so that it appropriately brings out the meaning, message, and/or emotion expressed by the word or phrase.

Directions:
  • You are required to use various type styles such as bold, italics, underline, outline, shadow, small caps, etc.
  • Each word must be in a different font and color.
  • You may only use 3 fonts from your table fonts assignment.
  • Top and bottom margins are .5"
  • Left and right margins are .25"
  • Set up a table with 4 columns and 5 rows.
  • The following words should be typed in the table:

Peaceful, Scary, Sophisticated, Dark, Light, Fat, Skinny, Happy, Sad, Clouds, Large, Sharp, Calm, Entertainment, Humor, War, The Prom, The Simpsons (or choose your own show), Morris Hills, Elegant.

If you feel that you would like to use other words instead, let me know first, and I will tell you if they are acceptable or not.

This assignment should be saved as "What's in a Font" in your MP1 folder. Print in color and submit along with your classes of type exercise from last class.
